Fall Vacation Activities at the Lake

The Lake of the Ozarks is absolutely beautiful during the Fall season. While summer is generally the highlight of the Lake area, you will find that there are many gems hidden here during Fall. From outdoor activities and fun views - here are our favorite reasons to plan a fall vacation at the Lake!

Hunting

Two of the most popular species for hunting at the Lake are deer and turkey. We have a growing population of both, and they thrive in our wooded areas and farmland. A booming population of deer boasts of many trophy-size bucks. The woods are also loaded with gray and fox squirrels for hunters who enjoy tracking the small game. This area has great hunting, and we would love to set you up with lodging for your hunting trip at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Fishing

Fish habitats are plentiful at the Lake of the Ozarks. Whether you're teaching your children how to cast or going for the BassMasters Classic, the Lake is where you want to be. With more than 1,150 miles of shoreline and 54,000 surface acres, plus rock bluffs, mud flats, gravel bars, coves, creeks, docks and crappie beds, it's no wonder generations of anglers from across America are hooked on fishing at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Golf

Golf at the Lake of the Ozarks is more than just "a walk in the woods." Area courses challenge golfers at every skill level. Elevation changes, water features, rock outcrops and more have been built into our championship courses by famed designers including Arnold Palmer, Tom Weiskopf, and Robert Trent Jones, Sr. What's more, Lake of the Ozarks golf courses offer all the amenities and services you expect from first-class facilities. And if you bring your family along, everyone will enjoy the Lake of the Ozarks' outstanding lake recreation options, attractions, shopping and dining.

Hiking

There is nothing more exhilarating than hiking the beautiful trails at the Lake of the Ozarks - but in the Fall, it's even better! The Fall season brings on a whole new beauty to the Lake with the stunning oranges, reds and yellows. The leaves will reflect on the Lake making for a picture perfect view, and one way to enjoy this is through hiking. The Lake boasts of amazing hiking trails, and two State Parks. Ha Ha Tonka has beautiful trails, as well as castle ruins. You can also visit Lake of the Ozarks State Park, with it's beautiful views and trails. Both parks have pavilions where you can sit a spell and enjoy the beauty and maybe a picnic lunch!
